Crichton GolF Club Burns Supper Piper & DJ

We were delighted to be a part of Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary’s Critical Care Unit Burns Supper on Saturday 1st February 2020 at the Crichton Golf Club. The CCU organised this event to raise money to support the amazing work of the Brain Tumour Charity – such a fantastic cause!

We started the night on the pipes, playing as guests arrived and piping in the Top Table. It was then over to Chairman Chris Lyon for the introductions and Selkirk Grace.

Some hae meat and canna eat,
   And some wad eat that want it;
But we hae meat, and we can eat,
   Sae let the Lord be thankit.

It was then onto the main event – piping in the haggis! Of course it had to be the traditional Burns tune, A Man’s A Man For A’ That. After a fantastic meal by the Crichton Golf Club, we moved onto some great entertainment. Catherine Jardine kicked things off with a beautiful version of My Love is Like a Red Red Rose and then it was Dewi Williams’ brilliant immortal memory. We had David Christie toasting the lassies and Laura White with the reply to the laddies – both were excellent! We then finished off the formal part of the evening with Anne-Marie Cossar’s exceptional version of Gerry Cinnamon’s Belter – she had rewritten the lyrics to “CCU Belters” to recognise the amazing work of the staff at the Critical Care Unit, a really lovely idea!

After the formal part of the evening, we cleared the tables and made room for dancing! Sticking with the Scottish tradition, we got everyone up for a couple of ceilidh dances before moving onto the disco. We had lots of requests with everything from Usher’s Yeah to Jackie Wilson’s (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher & Higher.

Overall it was a fantastic night which raised an amazing total of £1100.00 for the Brain Tumour Charity. We were so pleased to be a part of the event and support this brilliant cause.

Here’s what organiser Anne-Marie Cossar had to say about us:

Ross was exceptional at our Critical Care Unit Burns Supper. Playing the pipes numerous times throughout the evening (beautifully) and also keeping guests dancing all night with his fab disco. We had a blast! Everyone is raving on about how great a night they had. Thanks again x 🎉😊

What Customers Said...

Thank you so much for DJ’ing at the wedding! We have had so many people asking us who the DJ was as you managed to keep the dancefloor full all night! Couldn’t have been happier with the music that was played!

Graeme & Brogann Henderson

Thank you Ross you're a fabulous DJ! Ross provided our disco at the Mabie for our wedding on Saturday. Everyone had a dance and we even had a go at some Scottish dance's but unfortunately we were rubbish. Such a lovely guy!

Hayley & Pete Savage

Ross was the piper and DJ for our wedding. He did an amazing job for both. The piping was absolutely beautiful and he even braved the cold and high winds to come up into the hills so we could get pictures and footage for our wedding film. Everyone enjoyed the nights music and as an extra he even captured some awesome pictures of everyone dancing. We would recommend him to anyone. Thank you Ross!

We asked Ross to be a piper through the day and DJ at night for our big day on 13th of July. He went above and beyond all of our expectations and made life so easy for us. He couldn’t do enough for us to make sure our day was perfect, even when it came to last minute changes and decisions he was able to help us out. His online system for choosing songs was so easy to use and made sure all the songs we wanted to be played were so. Can’t thank him enough for everything he did and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for this service at an event!

Hi Ross, Thanks for your message and thank you so much for being part of our big day! You did a fantastic job. Thank you for being so flexible with the schedule and for making our evening such an enjoyable one. I have a feeling that the Canadian side, in particular, will be talking about the ceilidh for a long time. I've had a quick look through the photos and they look great. I will most definitely be recommending your services to anyone who's looking for entertainment. Thanks again and all the best.
